Cabin Fever Cured By A bout Of Soccer

Thank whoever, indoor soccer kicked off last week and once again I had a smile on my face. We had over 350 in and the game went to 9 - 5 (I think) I lost count. Even with a nearly new team, we still came out on top. I love the indoor game. Its fast and furious and the noisy crowd really enjoyed the game. This year there are extra seats available and a beer tent has been set up over one end of the pitch so drinkers don't miss a kick.
The entrance fee has gone up a little but our team are worth paying extra for. Where else can we see a glut of goals, an occasssional punch up, and beer at ridiculously low prices.

Don't let the smile fool ya. She wants ya money!

I'm not too sure how the team will do this year come the summer season at Memorial Stadium. We have a new built team who will be jelling together for the first time and we have a new manager as well (sorry, coach) in James Richie, a Scot with a mean glare for anyone who doesn't toe the line. I have seen other coaches throw towels around, shout and go red in the face, but James has made temper tantrum an art form. He could sometimes be likened to a supersonic windmill on fire, his arms a blur as he tries to advise certain refs about soccer etequet. Wonderful stuff and good entertainment on a rainy day.

Well, I got my new Championship scarf and shirt and proudly wear them. I do hope we get good crowds for the other three home games we have this year. Then it's on to the summer games. Cabin fever got blown away last week as I struggle here on this electronic device, editing my novel. I'd much prefer to go watch soccer any day, especially when its raining. Reminds me of home.

The pretty side of soccer
